Lake Aue

The Lake Aue is our favourite excursion and recreation destination - for water sports enthusiasts, those seeking relaxation and bathing guests from near and far.

Created by gravel extraction in the Rhine meadows, the 160-hectare lake today lies in the middle of a marvellous floodplain landscape not far from the Rhine. Partially designated as a nature reserve, it is also reserved for water sports and offers the ideal place on the outskirts of Wesel to enjoy relaxing hours of leisure with its beautiful walking paths, mini golf course and many other sporting activities.

In summer, bathing fun attracts visitors to the lake with a designated non-swimmer area, sandy beach and a 60,000 m² sunbathing lawn. The "DLRG" ensures the safety of bathers at weekends and during the holidays.
Sailors, surfers and divers will also find their little water sports paradise at the lake. On land, the mini-golf course, beach volleyball courts and disc golf are great fun.
