Historic Hanseatic
Festival

25th to 27th October 2024

Hanseatic Mile
The Historical Hanseatic Festival has been celebrated in Wesel for over 25 years. The Hanseatic Mile is an integral part of the festival. Every year, various Hanseatic cities from Germany and abroad present their tourist attractions and regional products from Brückstraße to Kreuz-/Korbmacherstraße. Delicacies such as Salzwedeler Baumkuchen, "Heiße Hanseliebe" or sausage specialities from Mühlhausen promise an enjoyable tour.

Historic farmers' and medieval market
There is a colourful hustle and bustle at the farmers' and medieval market. More than 50 traders from Germany and abroad offer their wares between Hohe Straße and Berliner Tor. The goods on offer range from historical costumes and leather goods to jewellery made from silver cutlery or herbs. Musicians and jugglers create a medieval atmosphere throughout the city centre.

Medieval marketplace
Take a trip back in time to the Middle Ages and immerse yourself in the colourful hustle and bustle of the ancient market. Various market stalls offer fruit, vegetables, fish and wine in the passageway through the Berliner Tor. The barber can cut your hair or treat minor wounds. He is still learning how to bite teeth - so brave visitors are very welcome.
